Top Scuba Diving Locations
August 2015
Our team often dives into the extraordinary water realm to gather aquarium inspiration in order to recreate its natural beauty in customised aquariums. It has always been fascinating to discover the underwater world. And with scuba diving innovations we are now able to discover the water depths and witness the breath taking beauty of our seas and oceans.
These technologies allow us to discover a variety of living things from seeing the unsuspecting pair of a pistol shrimp and a goby fish in their natural habitat, to experiencing the enormity of a great blue whale who’s heart can weigh as much as a car. Or witness the earthly process of tectonic spreading through the middle of Iceland, to manoeuvring through the manmade phenomena of a ship wreckage.
Do you want to explore the enchanting under water realm of heavy hearts, earthly or manmade phenomena? If you do, we have compiled a list of some of the best recommended scuba diving locations across the world for you to discover.
Inian Islands, Alaska
- Off the coast of the Gulf of Alaska you can see a diversity of aquatic life: yellow, pink and purple soft corals, and nudibranchs by the hundreds. You will also come across sea lions, octopuses and wolf eels.
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
- This sanctuary is an internationally recognized dive destination, protecting the coral barrier reef. You will discover a wealth of marine life, ranging from moray eels to the endangered elkhorn coral. You will also be able to explore the historic Florida Keys Shipwreck Trail.
Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
- Fernando de Noronha Island is an important ecological sanctuary, so the number of visitors is limited, guaranteeing a lovely private experience. This location off the coast of Brazil has crystal clear visibility up to 65 meters. The marine life is spectacular, it is home to one of the largest sea turtle colony and one of the largest spinner dolphin colony.
Silfra, Thingvellir, Iceland
- Thingvellir National Park has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both its cultural and historical significance as well as for its natural and geological uniqueness. The Silfra fissure is a crack between where the Eurasian and American continental plates meet and which spreads apart 2cm each year. Visibility reaches over 100 metres.
Red Sea, Egypt
- The Red Sea offers an amazing diversity of fish on nearly every dive. Thousands of anthias sweeping across a coral wall will compete with coral groupers, wrasse, blue spotted rays, butterfly fish and angelfish for your attention. You will most likely see a beautiful slow moving whale shark. At Yolanda Reef, in Egypt first and best kept national park, divers can glide above a wreck, which consists of hundreds of toilet bowls and a BMW across the seascape
Raja Ampat Islands, Indonesia
- Little known until the last few years, Raja Ampat’s sheer numbers and diversity of marine life, and its huge, largely pristine coral-reef systems, are a scuba diver dream come true – and fantastic for snorkelers too. It’s like swimming in a tropical aquarium
Great Barrier Reef, Australia
- World renowned for its amazing scuba diving locations. There is abundance of marine like that can be found along the 2300 km length of the reef.
