ONE OF A KIND JELLYFISH TANK AQUARIUM
Unique and wonderful with varying colours, this jellyfish tank aquarium was at the time of the installation the largest privately owned jellyfish tank in the world. Holding 50 moon jellyfish (Aurelia Aurita), with a 5000 litre system, it was hand built and made from cast acrylic. The aquarium was built in North America before being shipped and installed in the UK.
The jellyfish aquarium creates an interesting, unique and show-stopping feature within Chaobaby’s Sheffield restaurant. Colour changing LED lights illuminate the jellyfish and give them a striking aesthetic glow. The bespoke lighting system is linked to the restaurant’s own lights, changing accordingly.
The original concept came from the owner of the restaurant going swimming in Australia and learning about the infamous box jellyfish.
The jellyfish are hand feed twice a day and Aquarium Architecture team maintains the tank weekly.
